Learn about NASA Spinoff technology and, if you choose Track 2, focus on technology related to the James Webb Space Telescope (JWST).
Just like an engineer, use an Engineering Design Process.
Create a Glogster Multimedia Poster, a “Glog,” filled with text, images, and video to share your ideas with NASA.
Let’s Get Started!
There are two different tracks you can choose from.
The steps below guide you through this challenge to create a Glog that showcases your creative and innovative ideas.
* To get started with Glogster, you first have to sign up!

2 Be a Researcher
3 Be an Engineer and Create your Own Spinoff
4 Complete the Design Review
Use the James Webb Space Telescope (JWST) and JWST Spinoffs to inspire your creative ideas for Track 2. In addition to creating a Glog to showcase your innovative thinking, challengers in THIS track will also have the opportunity to take their ideas into a 3D virtual world.
Twenty teams (grades 7– 12) from this Track will be selected to continue developing their designs with a college engineering and business mentor in the NIAUniverse, a virtual world and gaming environment.
Mentors will select the teams they choose to lead by reviewing the submitted Glogs.

6 nWorld OPSPARC (Twenty selected teams)
College mentors work with selected teams to improve designs, create 3D virtual models of the designs, develop a marketing plan and showcase this work within NIAUniverse.
Teams interact with scientists and engineers through a design review and virtual world Q&A sessions.
The InWorld OPSPARC Guide is included in the NASA OPSPARC Design Packet you receive when you register for Track 2.
Once you register you will have access to these guides and tools.
